Teresa Sapey + Partners participates in 1 Milan Design Week 2026 event.
Teresa Sapey is the CEO and founder of the international design and architecture studio “Teresa Sapey + Partners”, which she leads in Madrid together with her daughter and partner, Francesca Heathcote Sapey.
Born in Italy, she studied Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Turin and Fine Arts at the Parsons School of Design in Paris. She founded her studio in Madrid in 1990 and has been a member of the RIBA since 1999. Her creative approach is characterized by the use of color, the combination of textures and materials, and a dynamic vision of design. She also combines her professional practice with teaching.
Her work has been featured in magazines such as AD, Wallpaper, and ELLE, and she has received numerous international awards, including Wallpaper Young Breakthrough Designer of the Year (2007) and Women Together (UN, 2008). In 2009, Marie Claire Italy named her one of the “10 women who will change the world,” and she also received the AD award for “Designer of the Year.” In 2024, she was honored with the Tempietto del Bramante Award, and in 2025 she was included in the AD100 list.
An art enthusiast, she is a member of the international patronage board of the Reina Sofía Foundation and owns a video art collection, part of which is exhibited at the Vostell Museum in Cáceres.
Each project by the studio is tailor-made, based on research and collaboration, with a strong commitment to sustainability and quality. In 2025, the studio received the prestigious “ELLE DECOR CONTRACT 2025” award as best hospitality design studio for the Palazzo dei Fiori project in Venice.
