WASTED WASTE
via Alcova
The interdisciplinary project brings together four studios from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, responding to the unique Broumov region in north-east Czechia, known for its Baroque heritage and long-standing textile production. Through a collaboration between fashion, product design, and photography, students engage with discarded clothing. They transform materials from a textile waste center into new products or document the process, reflecting on the environmental and social impacts of local and global fashion systems. Rooted in a specific place, WASTED WASTE explores questions of design responsibility and the relationship between local practices and global modes of production.
