Summer on Mars
via Alcova
SUMMER ON MARS is a metaphor for an imagined parallel world - close enough to reflect our desires, yet distant enough to loosen assumptions. Inspired by retrofuturistic visions of the red planet and the optimism of mid-century futures, the project explores how objects can shape atmosphere, mood and perception. Bringing together two distinct practices, the project unfolds through contrast: softness and structure, intuition and precision. SUMMER ON MARS takes the form of an immersive environment composed of lighting elements, sculptural structures and atmospheric interventions that exist between the practical and the imaginary, evoking a temporary sense of ease, lightness and an inner “summer.”
