Studies in Poise and Structure
via Alcova
This installation proposes a focused exploration of how sculptural furniture can articulate space through balance, tension, and restraint. "Studies in Poise and Structure" examines the dialogue between curved, enveloping forms and the rationalist clarity of architectural geometry. A meeting point where softness is held in place by structure, and structure is softened by light and proportion. The works operate as precise spatial gestures: forms that assert presence not through scale or theatricality, but through calibrated relationships with shadow, alignment, and material weight. Shaped not only by their contours but also by the negative space they define, they engage the viewer through subtle shifts in weight, lift, and silhouette. Together, they create a choreography of volumes that invites a heightened perception of proportion, rhythm, and pause within a room.
