Permanent Souls
via Alcova
Permanent Souls is a material investigation into memory, suspension, and permanence. Working with discarded nets sourced from construction contexts, the project transforms residual material into a series of lightweight, permeable pieces that exist between structure and fragility. Through manual processes that embrace gravity, tension, and imperfection, soft matter is made rigid, yet remains visually unstable. The works suggest function without imposing it. They operate as objects in use and as suspended presences, activating the space around them through light, shadow, and movement. Permanent Souls asks a simple yet open question: What remains when something no longer exists, but still endures in memory?
