NEW ROCKS

FROM DUST TO STONE 'New Rocks' is a material research exploring biomaterials through geological processes. Locally sourced residual materials from Luxembourg, such as sediments, mining waste, minette iron ore, and construction debris, are processed into hand-shaped fragments. These 'new stones' are bound with natural agents, transforming discarded matter into collectible design objects. The biodegradable, modular forms become column-shaped furniture pieces that can be reconfigured in varying heights and arrangements. Their layered textures do not merely imitate erosion and growth but participate in these processes. 'New Rocks' invites a rethinking of materiality, turning discarded matter into resource and reconnecting it to nature through sculptural experimentation.
