ARCHETYPE
via Alcova
A window is more than an opening — it is a cultural code embedded in architecture. ARCHETYPE explores the form of window openings in 16th–17th century stone architecture. The project begins with the observation of historical windows, whose silhouettes and proportions are translated into a system of layered graphic contours. The arch is placed within a rectangular field, where repeating lines create a sense of depth, as if the space of the window unfolds from the surface of the wall. Even when simplified, the form retains its cultural memory. ARCHETYPE reflects on how architectural elements can be translated into a universal visual language while preserving traces of their historical and cultural origin.
