Hamanishi Kunikazu

Born into an artistic family, Hamanishi spent his childhood between Japan and overseas, developing an early interest in art and making. He studied product, architecture, and interior design at Tama Art University. After graduation, he worked for seven years at Tanseisha Co., Ltd., designing commercial interiors. Following this period, he studied furniture design in Denmark. In 2015, he returned to Japan and founded STUDIO COHAKU. Since establishing his studio, he has exhibited internationally, including at Salone del Mobile in Milan and Stockholm Furniture Fair. His practice explores the relationship between material and natural forces, translating experimental processes into refined product design.
