Gianni Pettena participates in 1 Milan Design Week 2026 event.
Gianni Pettena is an Italian architect and artist, among the leading figures of the Radical Architecture movement of the 1960s and 1970s. His research lies at the boundary between art, architecture, and performance, questioning the traditional idea of design as a stable and definitive construction. His work often focuses on the relationship between space, nature, and human intervention, privileging temporary actions, installations, and participatory processes rather than permanent buildings. Through these experiences, Pettena proposes an idea of architecture as a critical and conceptual practice, capable of questioning the way we live in and perceive space
